LAN Maintenace Tips

To keep a healthly LAN, regular maintenace is imperative. Having current virus, spyware and adware protection is an important key to protecting your network. In addition, a firewall and additional security are benefits to further secure your information.

Thorough routine maintenance should be run at least weekly, by scheduled cleansing to include removing each PC from the network to allow a full scan of each system before reconnecting them to the network. A few simple steps will allow for full benefits of the service available.

We recommend software run on each PC within your network to ensure optimal services to include virus protection, spyware and adware. For a free trial of ESET virus protection, click here. For a free adware program by Lavasoft, download here. For free spyware by Spybot Search and Destroy, click here.

To see the amount of bandwidth being used on each PC, there is a free program available with the purpose of optimizing webcam or VoIP settings. It won't offer a full overview of your network, only a single PC. It can be downloaded here.
