Dedicated Satellite Service

Fully Dedicated satellite service uses SCPC (single channel per carrier) to allow one way, full duplex or asymmetrical circuits. This service can be used in point to point or point to multipoint configurations, utilizing compatible satellite modems at each end of the link. SCPC is optimal for medium to large ISPs, large businesses, call centers or any high data rate or real time traffic intensive applications. There have been large strides in modem modulation options and routing features such as Quality of Service, Header Compression and Payload Compression, all adding up to savings on bandwidth and an excellent quality service.

Point to Point Dedicated Satellite Service

This type of service allows direct communication between to sites that are located on the same satellite footprint. Each site has a VSAT and a single satellite modem and communicates only between these sites. Because there is no connectivity to the teleport, there is no double hop that would affect the quality of real time applications. In addition there are no costs associated with teleport usage or backhaul, making this a less expensive solution.

Mesh Satellite Service

Mesh has historically been an expensive application to run over satellite. Modulation improvements as well as compression have started to change the face of mesh. This technology is best used for a group of VSATs that need to have real time applications between each site without the latency created by a double satellite hop with communications going through a teleport. Each site goes directly over the satellite to the other sites, creating only a single hop and less then and 700 ms delay*.

Hybrid Satellite Solutions

With all the changes in technology and introduction of features it's no wonder that for many, a hybrid solution is the optimal way to design their network. Each application has an optimal design and the ability to combine each need with an optimal solution and mesh them all together is key in meeting today's current satellite bandwidth demands.
